Communication Systems Technician - Emergency Management: This is a highly skilled position that will perform a wide variety of tasks supporting the county's communications systems. These tasks include but are not limited to: design, preparing written specifications, conducting requests for proposals, purchasing, installation, implementation, commissioning, testing, and sustaining complex communications systems. This position will work closely with the Communications System Manager and Dispatch personnel. This position reports to the Whitman County Emergency Communications System Manager. Experience: Five years of experience in design, engineering, implementation, maintenance, testing or repair of public safety radio systems, including UHF, VHF, microwave and associated electronic equipment is highly desirable. Candidates must have a minimum of four years of professional experience in information technology, including troubleshooting, system maintenance, and support of hardware and software. This experience should demonstrate a strong ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues, work with a variety of IT systems and applications, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. Experience with network systems, cybersecurity, or database management is highly desirable Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited electronic technical school or hold a degree in electrical (or electronic) engineering. Alternatively, individuals with equivalent experience and training in a relevant field will also be considered. Coursework or experience must align closely with the responsibilities and requirements of the position. Experience in radio site maintenance is essential and required. Successfully pass a criminal investigation background check. Valid driver's license required. Starting Salary: $9076/month Full Salary Range: $9076- $10847/month Closing Date: Open Until Filled.
