Fire Fighter
The City of Airway Heights Fire Department is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Fire Fighter. The Department serves a total population of approximately 10,500 year-round residents and operates from one station staffed by 6 full time personnel and 20 volunteers. The 2024 salary for the Fire Fighter position will start at $6,132 - $7,322 monthly. Applications must be received by 4:00 p.m. on September 20th, 2024. Only 20 applications will be accepted. Complete standard City Application; include resume, and applicable certificates.
Required Experience and Certifications: IFSAC Firefighter I certification; currently certified Washington State EMT-B or National Registry EMT-B. Must possess or obtain a valid Washington State driver's license.
Written Test and Physical Ability Testing will be on Wednesday September 25th, 2024. Interviews will be on Wednesday October 2nd, 2024. Chief's interviews will be scheduled on the 2nd.

BENEFITS

- MEDICAL: The City pays up to $1,591.00 for employee and dependent medical coverage.

- VACATION TIME: Employees will receive the following vacation benefit per year:
Year 1-4 = 8 hours/month
- SICK LEAVE: Employees will accrue 10 hours of sick leave every month.
- PAID HOLIDAYS: The City offers 11 paid holidays and 4 personal holidays.
- CLOTHING ALLOWANCE: $1,500 per year after the first year of employment.
