Job Duties:
- Develop engineering processes based on manufacturing requirements for actual and new products in medical device/equipment industry
- Utilize process characterizing skills and tools to mitigate risks by introducing the new products into manufacturing
- Oversee the engineering review, based on project needs and applicable process knowledge
- Collaborate with business development and R+D
- Ensure that Company develops, implements and maintains engineering processes that successfully introduce new products at the Company production sites
- Participate in processes related to prototyping, process development, and confirmation production runs and validation cycles
- Provide additional support and troubleshoot production issues as needed
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of developed processes (complete documentation, training within established processes)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with all stakeholders
- Work with the production operators and Quality technicians on new and revised processes
- Coordinate new tooling/ fixtures identification, procurement and verification, participating in these activities
- Identify new technologies in accordance with business priorities to improve efficiency, quality, reduce costs and meet market needs.
- Provide training to indirect manufacturing tasks like R+D, quality department and sourcing as required
- Use statistical tools to analyze data, drive decisions, reduce risk and improve manufacturing processes (Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, Cpk)
- Support cross-functional teams to transfer manufacturing processes to production, and enable high volume ramp-up
- Assume responsibility for completeness and accuracy of developed processes (i.e., lead, manage, communicate, create documentation, train) including ownership of process capability, process quality, and process costs
- Support continuous processes improvement identification and implementation in accordance with site priorities to improve efficiency, quality, reduce costs, and meet market technology needs
Education: Master's degree with major/concentration in Industrial Engineering, Microengineering or related field (will accept foreign educational equivalent).
Position requires three (3) years of experience in Process Engineering, Process Development Engineering, R&D Engineering or related in medical device industry.
