Help Wanted: Maintenance Worker
City of Deer Park - Public Works Department
The City of Deer Park is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department.
This position performs a variety of semi-skilled to skilled maintenance and repair duties across City departments, including Streets, Parks, Water, and Wastewater. Responsibilities include operating hand tools, light and heavy equipment, specialized machinery, and City vehicles. The Maintenance Worker may be assigned to any division within Public Works and will work independently or as part of a team of varying sizes.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience installing and/or maintaining public works infrastructure
- Experience operating light and heavy equipment
Wages & Benefits
- $33.70 per hour after a 6-month probationary period (paid at 80% of the full wage during probation)
- Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Union position represented by Teamsters Local 690
